WHY SMALL GROUPS?   At Cornerstone we believe Home Churches or small group gatherings create a context for life change.  It is not just a program we do, or something we have added on.  Our move into home churches is a return to our apostolic roots and to the New Testament pattern for church.  Home Churches are where we become fully devoted followers of Christ.  Home Churches are where we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ as His truth comes to life. Home Churches are where we connect in authentic biblical community. Home Churches are where we serve each other and where we discover our gifts and share the message of Christ so that we can impact our world with His Kingdom.
It’s about growing people, not programs. Just as Jesus meets people where they are, small groups start where people are—not where the leader wants them to be. Small group leaders do not grow the group; God does that. Leaders listen, discern, and participate with the Holy Spirit to create the optimum conditions for people to grow.
Our Purpose, Mission & Strategy of CCC Home Churches
The overall purpose of Cornerstone Church stated simply is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  The strategy of CCC Home Churches is unique: to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating an environment where they can explore faith and experience community.

  1. A conversational environment.  The first is to provide a conversational environment, not a teaching platform, or a Sunday school class.  Naturally teaching and learning will occur, but at its core, home churches are a conversational environment where discussion happens.  Thus, our home church pastors are not so much teachers as they are facilitators and fellow participants.
  2. Explore Faith.  Our second goal is we desire an open and honest atmosphere for people to explore, investigate, discuss, discover, experiment with, and examine issues of faith.
  3. Experience Community.   The third objective is to provide family and community.  Real community is the fruit of healthy relationships with God and with people.   Such community is attained only through the process and experience of real people who care for one another in gatherings of two or more persons.  Spiritual growth is the process and product of being in community. Isolated individuals cannot grow spiritually.  People grow when they are in relationship with God and with one another. We remain in spiritual infancy when we refuse to participate in community.

     Benefits of Home Church Meetings
There are many benefits of participating in a Home Church meeting.  Some are:

  1. Home Churches nourish relational growth where group members affirm one another, encourage one another and build each other up in Christ.
  2. Home Churches encourage spiritual growth.
  3. Home Churches build emotional support.
  4. Home Churches develop leaders.
  5. Home Churches stimulate service.

Home Church Meetings

Each group meeting lasts approximately ninety minutes on Wednesdays from 7:00PM-8:30PM.  This time frame allows for our Youth and Children’s Ministry to function and for us to provide childcare/nursery to CCC Home Church group members who need it. Both the Childcare/Nursery and Youth/Children's Ministries will be from 7PM-8:30PM at the Cornerstone Church Campus.  Our Home Churches group meetings are held at various homes located throughout our region.
